Attorney Benjamin Chew has resigned from the partnership at his new firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, about four months after leaving Patton Boggs, over “potential conflicts” related to Chevron’s litigation with Patton Boggs. Chevron is one of Pillsbury’s “longtime clients” and “any past connection Chew had to Patton Boggs litigation against Chevron could breach professional guidelines and risk Pillsbury’s relationship with Chevron.” As the Washington Post has reported, Chevron “sued Patton Boggs … for concealing and promoting fraudulent information in a case that was born in the jungles of the Amazon.” (Legal Times)
