  • What Happened in 1991, The Year the TCPA Was Passed? The Telephone Consumer Protection Act is old and outdated. How old? Well, in the same year it was enacted (1991), the Soviet Union dissolved, Dances With Wolves won the Academy Award for Best Picture, and the Chicago Bulls won their first-ever NBA Championship.   • Building Trade Group Cites ILR in Setting Legal Reform Priorities: The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association has released its 2016 policy journal, which includes a number of legal reform priorities. These include the Innocent Sellers Fairness Act (H.R. 1199) and the Lawsuit Abuse Reduction Act (H.R. 758). The group cited ILR’s study showing the tort liability price tag for small businesses exceeding $100 billion. (LBM Journal)
