“The record is overwhelmingly clear and supportive that BP did what it needed to do, stepped up to the plate,” testified Retired Coast Guard Captain Frank Paskewich in a trial to determine fines against BP for the Gulf Oil Spill. Paskewich told U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier that BP’s “conducted an extraordinarily effective response.” (Bloomberg)

West Virginia Delegates John Shott (R-Mercer) and Marty Gearheart (R-Mercer) told the Bluefield Daily Telegraph that the house this week will be taking up some key legal reform measures “to dispel the conception that our state is not business friendly.” (Bluefield Daily Telegraph)
