Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, called for legal reform in his State of the State Address yesterday, noting that the state’s liability costs “rank among the worst in America”, adding up to “far more than just numbers on an accountant’s balance sheet.” Rauner has made legal reform a key plank in his “Bring Back Blueprint” for the state. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced that he will nominate Ken Gormley, dean and professor at Duquesne University School of Law, and Centre County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Thomas Kistler, to fill the court’s existing vacancies. (The Legal Intelligencer)
