Congress Takes Measures to Rein In – or Dismantle – CFPB: On Tuesday of this week, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX) introduced legislation that would dismantlement the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). In addition, Senator David Perdue (R-GA) is expected to introduce legislation this week that will “make the CFPB more accountable to Congress by changing its funding mechanism.” (Reuters)

PA Op-Ed Cites ILR “Lawsuit Climate” Survey in Making Case for Reforms: Executive director of the Pennsylvania Coalition for Civil Justice Reform, Curt Schroder, highlights the “imbalances” in Pennsylvania’s civil justice system. Schroder cites a court docket where “ nearly half of the plaintiffs are out-of-state litigation tourists” and notes that Pennsylvania is ranked  37th in ILR’s State Lawsuit Climate report.
