- DOJ Launches New Website in Effort to Be More Transparent On Yates Memo: Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates announced that the DOJ has launch a new website “in an effort to be more transparent about the Yates Memo and changes made last year to the Filip factors.” Yates added that the simplest option when a question presents itself is to “pick up the phone and call the Assistant U.S. Attorneys or trail attorney handling your case.” (Compliance Week)
- Spokeo Ruling Impacts Numerous Appellate & District Court Decisions: Since the Supreme Court handed down its ruling in Spokeo v. Robins in May, there have been at least eight appellate court opinions and 50 district court decisions stemming from alleged violations of statutes ranging from the Fair Credit Reporting Act to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act that have relied on the justices’ reasoning in Spokeo.
