An independent accounting firm’s audit of the BP oil spill claims settlement process found 8.2% of the damage claims “were missing required documents or didn’t meet documentation standards.” BP is using these findings to continue its criticism of the claims process, alleging it has led the company to pay “millions of dollars in fictitious claims.” (Houston Chronicle)

The U.S. Justice Department and CFPB are threatening an “enforcement proceeding” against Toyota Motor Credit Corp., alleging “discriminatory” loan pricing. The auto dealer industry is pushing back, using a study they say shows the CFPB’s methodology for determining discrimination in an auto lender’s portfolio is “conceptually flawed in its application.” (Detroit News)
