TCPA lawsuit forces medical device company into bankruptcy: The owner of an Arizona company that sells spinal decompression equipment says he made a “one-time mistake” sending a group fax and now faces bankruptcy because of the ensuing TCPA class action. “This is my only source of income, and there’s no way we could pay for what might turn out to be a $300,000 to $500,000 lawsuit,” said Brian Self, owner of Double Your Decompression. MO Chamber calls for legal reform: In a piece highlighting its agenda for the upcoming legislative session, the Missouri Chamber calls for enactment of legal reforms to fix the state’s legal climate that is “harmful to our current business community and is a hindrance to attracting growth opportunities.” The Chamber sites Missouri’s poor ranking (42nd out of 50) in ILR’s 2015 Lawsuit Climate survey.
