Kokesh Doesn’t Stop SEC From Collecting Disgorgements, Federal Judge Says: A federal judge in Massachusetts yesterday dismissed a lawsuit that claimed the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission illegally collected nearly $15 billion in disgorgements after the U.S. Supreme Court’s Kokesh v. SEC ruling. The judge disagreed, saying the 1990 Penny Stock Reform Act “explicitly permits the SEC” to do so. (Law360)
