A Federal Express Corp. unit will pay $2.1 million to settle a proposed class action over alleged failures to provide proper meal and rest breaks to current and former employees. “Of the gross settlement amount, up to $700,000 will be set aside for attorneys’ fees, $40,000 for attorneys’ expenses and costs, about $7,500 as an award for [the lead plaintiff] and at least $50,000 for administrative costs.” (Law360)
