  • Fines For Contempt Issued Against Plaintiffs’ Lawyers in Houston: A federal judge granted State Farm summary judgment in three Texas hail cases, dismissing all claims asserted by the plaintiffs. Two of  the judgments also had fines for contempt issued against local counsel for the plaintiffs. (Southeast Texas Record)
  • Illinois AG Joins DOJ Lawsuit to Block Health Insurance Merger: Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is the latest attorney general to join a lawsuit spearheaded by the DOJ to block the proposed merger of Humana and Aetna. She joins attorneys general from several states, including Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and the District of Columbia in the suit to block the $37 billion merger.
