Law firm Belluck & Fox has moved to block an order issued in March by a North Carolina magistrate judge allowing gasket-maker Garlock Sealing Technologies to subpoena documents from 55 bankruptcy trusts and claims processing facilities involved in bringing misleading litigation against the now-defunct company. In its second expedition into data security regulation, the Federal Communications Commission on Wednesday extracted a $25 million settlement from AT&T Services, Inc., signaling that the regulator is “poised to tackle a broad range” of issues “typically pursued by the Federal Trade Commission.” (Law360)
