Victoria Mayor Reverses Course, Says Municipal Energy Suits Are a Bad Idea: Speaking with CBC’s Daybreak North, Mayor Lisa Helps of Victoria, British Columbia, indicated that she no longer agreed with a January motion from the Victoria City Council that supported filing a class action lawsuit against energy producers over climate change. In Helps’ view, “[t]ime is running out and fighting lawsuits is probably not the best way to spend our time, when we’ve got a planet to save.” (Washington Free Beacon)
