  • Abbott Labs Prevails in Texas FCA Case: Abbott Laboratories has prevailed in a False Claims Act case over allegations of the company’s off-label stent marketing. The suit sought $219 million in damages, but a Texas jury, in a 10-1 verdict, found the company did not violate the FCA. (Law360)
    • Litigation Financier Moves Against Australian Class Action Firm: Third party litigation finance company, International Litigation Partners, will reportedly fund an investigation and potential shareholder class action against publicly traded Australian class action plaintiffs’ firm Slater & Gordon, which reported a $958 million loss for the last half of 2015. “About 3,000 people have joined a class action being conducted by rival law firm Maurice Blackburn” against Slater & Gordon.  (The Australian Financial Review)
