On claims that the New York Consolidated Asbestos Litigation docket, or NYCAL, facilitated the fast-tracking of asbestos cases brought by law firms implicated in the Sheldon Silver scandal, Judge Peter Moulton will hold a town hall meeting tomorrow to examine the court’s processes. (Forbes)

In addition to monetary penalties, the Department of Justice is increasingly seeking civil settlements which include features more closely associated with criminal cases, such as admissions of misconduct and “sanctions against corporate executives involved in the alleged misconduct.” (Law360)
