ILR’s 2014 Election Night Survey Cited in WSJ Story on Trump Litigation

A Wall Street Journal article examining litigation filed by Donald Trump and his businesses cites an election night poll conducted by ILR a few years ago.

“Nearly four of five Republican voters want Congress to approve a law to ‘reform’ the legal system, according to a 2014 poll commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Legal Reform,” notes the article. 

The article features a review of “hundreds of court cases involving Mr. Trump and his businesses in federal and state courts since the 1980s.”

“Trump clearly has an affinity for filing lawsuits, partly because he owns a lot of businesses,” said Jim Copland, director of legal policy at the Manhattan Institute. Copland noted that in some cases, Trump appeared to use “litigation as a bullying tactic.”
