ILR Report Cited in Story about ‘Almond Milk’ Class Actions

A story about a number of class action lawsuits filed against manufacturers of almond milk cites ILR’s 2013 report, “The New Lawsuit Ecosystem.” In that report, lawsuits against food manufacturers are highlighted as an emerging trend.

“Since 2011, a small group of plaintiffs’ lawyers has filed nearly 150 class-action lawsuits against food-makers, with more than half filed in California courts,” reports the Sacramento Bee‘s Claudia Buck, citing the ILR report.

“Some law firms reuse the same people over and over as plaintiffs, attack advertising that the plaintiff never saw or relied on, and even challenge the marketing of products that the plaintiff never bough.”
