ILR Hosts Transnational Forum Shopping Symposium this Thursday at Pepperdine Law School
This Thursday, the Institute for Legal Reform will feature former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey as we host a special symposium on the issue of Transnational Forum Shopping at Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, CA.
This symposium will bring together prominent academics, legal practitioners, and business leaders to discuss three key issues in transnational litigation:
- The future of Alien Tort Statute litigation after Kiobel,
- The need for federal legislation governing the recognition of judgments rendered in foreign countries, and
- Global forum shopping
The symposium will close with a fourth panel focused on strategic business planning in light of the preceding topics.
In addition to former Attorney General Michael Mukasey, featured speakers will include Theodore J. Boutrous, Jr. (Partner, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher), Kathleen M. Sullivan (Partner, Quinn Emanuel, Urquhart, & Sullivan) and ILR President Lisa A. Rickard.
