ILR-Funded Ethics & Compliance Report Garners National Media Attention

The Ethics and Compliance Initiative (ECI) released an ILR-funded report, “Principles & Practices of High-Quality Ethics & Compliance Programs,” that offers “a roadmap for creating high quality compliance programs, no matter the size of a company,” reports Corporate Counsel.

The report “aims to provide a roadmap for companies looking to develop an ethics and compliance program that moves beyond the bare minimum requirements of the U.S. Department of Justice’s sentencing guidelines,” reports the Wall Street Journal“The report was prepared by a panel of chief compliance officers, former regulators and lawmakers and other thought leaders in the area of ethics and compliance.”

Corporate Counsel reports that the five principles are: “Ethics and compliance is central to business strategy; risks are identified, owned, managed and mitigated; leaders at all levels sustain a culture of integrity; whistleblowing on wrongdoing is encouraged and valued; the organization takes action and holds itself accountable when wrongdoing occurs.”
