Head of DOJ’s Criminal Division Stepping Down Today
Leslie Caldwell, head of the Justice Department’s criminal division, will leave the DOJ effective today, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Caldwell has led the unit since 2014 and says she “doesn’t yet know what she will do next.” She predicts that her successor “would need to tackle the growing inability for investigators to access information stored on encrypted devices” saying that will be “problem No. 1 to address.”
