Google Wins Injunction Against MS AG Jim Hood

Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood’s attempt to subpoena Google Inc. over allegations of aiding criminal activity by virtue of its search engine and autocomplete function has been brought to a standstill by Judge Henry T. Wingate.

Wingate issued an order this month that renders the subpoenas unenforceable and prevents the attorney general from brining a civil or criminal charge against the company, under state law.

Google maintains it cannot be held responsible for third-party content.
