General Counsels Expect Boost in Class Action Spending

U.S. general counsels reportedly are expecting to boost the amount spent on defending class actions in the coming year.

“The number of companies facing at least one of these major suits rose sharply from 53.8 percent in 2014 to 60.6 percent this year,” reports Law360. “The class action market dipped greatly from $2.24 billion in 2010 to $2.06 billion in 2012, seemingly beckoning an overall decline in class actions.”

The market size “jumped back up to $2.1 billion” in 2015, however, and is projected to rise.
