French Business Association MEDEF Receives ILR’s Outstanding Alliance Award

WASHINGTON, D.C.—French business advocacy association Mouvement des entreprises de France (MEDEF) received the Outstanding Alliance Award at the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform’s (ILR) 16th Annual Legal Reform Summit today.

“We are very excited to honor MEDEF with our Outstanding Alliance Award,” said Lisa A. Rickard, president of ILR. “We wish to recognize its tireless efforts to prevent the introduction of the worst features of the U.S. civil justice system into France, and to protect the businesses and people of France from the economic damage that comes from an overly litigious environment.”

Specifically, the Outstanding Alliance Award recognized MEDEF for its cooperative engagement with ILR in Europe, particularly in Brussels and with the European Union institutions, regarding collective actions.

The Annual Legal Reform Awards honor individuals and organizations whose outstanding work has contributed to reforming America’s civil justice system, as well as key foreign civil justice systems. More information on ILR’s other award recipients is available here.

ILR seeks to promote civil justice reform through legislative, political, judicial, and educational activities at the national, state, and local levels.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
