EPA Says Glyphosate Is Not A Carcinogen

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said yesterday that glyphosate, a key ingredient in weed killers, does not cause cancer in humans, Reuters reports.

The EPA said “there are no risks to public health when glyphosate is used in accordance with its current label and that glyphosate is not a carcinogen,” which reaffirmed the organization’s earlier findings. The substance is at the center of litigation over Bayer’s Roundup product, which some have alleged caused cancer. The company faces thousands of lawsuits over the product.
