Chamber-Backed “Fairness in Class Action Litigation Act” Could Face House Vote This Week
Modern Healthcare notes the U.S. Chamber’s support for H.R. 1927, the “Fairness in Class Action Litigation Act of 2015.”
“This legislation would address the problem of overbroad, non injury class actions, which cost millions of dollars to defend and typically result in settlements where nobody wins, except the lawyers,” according to a Hill letter released by the Chamber.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), could face a House floor vote this week.
