BusinessWeek Highlights BP’s New Evidence Against ‘Dubious Choice’ Claims Administrator
BusinessWeek‘s Paul Barrett follows up on BP’s filing of new “conflicts-of-interest” evidence in an effort to have Gulf Oil Spill Claims Administrator Patrick Juneau removed from his post because of his previous work as an “attorney for the state of Louisiana and individual claimants seeking damages from BP.”
“Juneau … was a dubious choice to be the supposedly disinterested court agent for distributing reparations” after the Gulf Oil Spill, writes Barrett.
Barrett highlights BP’s complaints that Juneau has approved “inflated and even ‘fictitious’ claims,” as well as a court-sponsored investigation “of Juneau’s operation” that uncovered “corruption among some of his senior aides.”
