Businesses Face Liability Concerns When Employees Return to Work

Thousands of businesses across the country could face coronavirus-related lawsuits once states start to lift pandemic restrictions. A Fox Business article discussing liability concerns for businesses features a letter published by U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Suzanne Clark.

In the letter, Clark wrote that “if enough claims are brought, the scope and magnitude of the litigation still may exert enough pressure to threaten businesses or industries with bankruptcy.” She also warned that the threat of exposure-related lawsuits may deter some businesses from reopening “even after it is determined that they could safely operate by following the guidance of appropriate health authorities.”
