A.I.G. Settles Shareholder Suit for Almost $1 Billion
American International Group has won approval of a $970.5 million settlement in a shareholder class action over allegations stemming from pre-financial crisis lending practices.
The settlement is one of the largest ever reached in shareholder litigation spawned by the crisis, and is the largest in which no criminal or regulatory enforcement actions were taken in such a case.
