9th Annual Legal Reform Summit

The 9th Annual Legal Reform Summit covered a variety of timely topics. The Hon. Carlos M. Gutierrez, United States Secretary of Commerce, delivered the morning keynote address on the U.S. legal environment’s impact on foreign investment. Thomas J. Donohue, President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, delivered the luncheon keynote address on the future of legal reform.
At the Summit, ILR released a practitioner's handbook on federal preemption, the interim findings of our discovery survey, and a whitepaper on the proper role of criminal law as it relates to corporate conduct. In addition, Commerce Secretary Gutierrez released a new Department of Commerce study on the U.S. legal environment’s impact on foreign investment.
